In January 2021, the operative phase of the new SABIC learning platform “Digital Innovation” started. inpro supports this qualification programme initiated by SABIC in the areas of “Innovation Management” and “Predictive Engineering”. The participants are to be sensitised to the opportunities of digitisation and understand what is needed to be successful in the digital transformation of industrial value chains. The first group of SABIC trainees spent two weeks in Berlin to intensify what they had learned theoretically in virtual courses with practical exercises on site.

During the attendance phase, SABIC and inpro work closely together with the internationally renowned business school ESCP. Excursions to the Institute for Lightweight Construction and Plastics Technology (ILK) in Dresden and to the Federal Institute for Materials Testing (BAM) complemented the practical programme. The feedback from the young SABIC colleagues shows that they experienced the qualification measure as profitable and inspiring, so that on the evening of 5 November we could rightly speak of a successful implementation of the Learning Platform 2021. The qualification activities are to be continued next year and possibly expanded.
