From 16 to 23 October more than 3,300 exhibitors met at the world’s leading trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, which takes place every three years in Düsseldorf. inpro was not only represented as a visitor but also as a development partner of several exhibitors. The spirit was extraordinarily good. Outstanding topics were sustainability and digitization. Numerous new solutions were presented to around 225,000 trade visitors from 165 countries.
The digitization of plastic parts production offers particularly great potential. Digital process twinning enables both early process optimization and predictive maintenance and repair. Digital tools are also a key to improving sustainability.
The inpro shareholder group SABIC also presented software tools for virtual process optimization. Here SABIC and inpro work closely together. The aim is, among other things, to achieve a reduction in mould tests and tool changes through improved digital engineering.
On the Science Campus Center inpro was represented as a member company of the FOREL consortium and presented together with partners like the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology Dresden the results of the eight FOREL technology projects which were funded by the BMBF in the last six years. inpro was actively involved in the projects LEIKA, ReLei, SamPa and PROLEI.
The next plastics trade fair in Düsseldorf will take place from 19 to 26 October 2022.
