Immersive technologies offer great potential for accelerating development processes. The further development of technologies from the entertainment sector enables rapid user effects in industrial processes and benefits from the dynamic development of this sector. Use cases include engineering collaboration/design reviews, virtual training and immersive validation, as well as the improvement of work processes and resources. The application of these technologies makes it possible to eliminate the need for physical prototypes, thereby savingcosts. The involvement of many stakeholders is easy to achieve. inpro is working on the vision of the “interactive digital twin”, which, in addition to further enabling VR/AR models, pursues the automation and quality improvement of model creation. Integration into the engineering system environments of the automotive industry and approaches to improving human-machine interaction are further goals of inpro’s work.
